Done in black charcoal, my final version for the "unusual perspective" piece is finished.

This final is a good example of an unusual perspective, not just because it's taken slightly from above, but also the two hands and the head are at slightly different depths in the picture. I believe I drew fairly close to the picture, therefore capturing the angle well. You can easily tell by looking at it that the feet are proportionate, just smaller because of perspective, and the same goes for the hands/legs.
I know this is a successful design for two reasons:
First off, I managed to create a piece in such a way that not only can one understand what the subject is despite its stretched proportions, but also with a relatively fluid medium. By fluid, I mean that charcoal is very easy to smear into soft lines but also can be used for dark, bold, decisive lines as well.
The second reason I think this is a successful design is a personal one. I feel that I learned even more to look at something as simple shapes and not as a face, for example. If one were to compare between my self portrait final and this one (both of which are supposed to be me) while looking at me, it would be obvious that this one has a stronger resemblance to me. This is also why I believe the proportion is so close to the original: because, when drawing something such as the torso, I would see a rectangle and measure for it's length, and not try to think about how my torso should look. I feel that I accomplished my goal of making an accurate piece in charcoal well.

A bit closer view of the top half of the work.

Closer view of the lower portion.
